Someone, please explain why this is a good idea.

cold shoulder tops

I didn’t know what this was called, but after googling, “Tops without shoulders” and “tops missing shoulders”, and “top that looks like someone cut it with a pair of scissors to show shoulders”, I found out that they were “cold shoulder” tops.

Disclaimer: This post isn’t really about writing. I am going to complain about weird clothes. Check back in a week for yet another nerdy post about books.

Again, the fashion industry likes to make clothes with less fabric and charge more for it. OK, sure, we’re paying for design, but how does this in any way, shape or form aesthetically pleasing? I understand off-shoulder tops. I understand spaghetti strap tops. I understand tube tops, which may be considered a little revealing to some.

But this is ugly. And stupidly designed.

Like this. This looks like a tank top with those fabric cup holders sewn on. I don’t know what purpose it serves, to be honest.

If clothes were Pokemon, this would be some half-assed evolution. It’s trying to be a spaghetti strap top but the ruffles are getting in the way.

coldsh3

This is even worse. It looks like a garden is strangling her.

coldsh4

The colour scheme reminds me of a deformed Minnie Mouse dress or something. And why does this make her look like some checkered table?

This is just… no. Why put the lace at these places and what’s that ugly design around the collar? This is for the tai-tai who wants to be trendy but doesn’t know what she wants.

Why was this designed, and why do people wear them? it just…does not look good all around.
